Care
Bag Care: You will likely never need to wash your Datsusara bag as hemp stays naturally clean due to it's antimicrobial and breathing properties. In case you do we recommend you only hand wash in cold water (cold water prevents material shrinkage) and line dry. It is possible to machine wash the bags but it's tricky and we cannot warranty against damage from machine washing. As for the "Nasty bags" (which are synthetic) we recommend washing them however you like but line dry.
Apparel Care: For apparel you can wash however you want. But don't use any bleach as it weakens the hemp, and do keep in mind the hotter the water and dryer setting the more things will shrink.
For new gis we strongly recommend machine washing at least 2-3 times to prevent shedding of the material which occurs naturally with our 100% hemp gis.
Shipping & Returns
Your order will ship within 24 hours (36 hours for international) Monday-Friday excluding holidays and pre-orders (which ship by the date mentioned on the product's page). A tracking number will be sent to your email once the order ships.
North America & Canada US shipments range from 2-7 days of transit time between express and economy shipping. For Canada expect a few days to a few weeks.
Overseas shipments:
For International orders express options range from around 7-10 days and average around 3 weeks with economy. Also please understand that customs in your country may charge import fees (although we value our shipments at a fraction of their retail cost) and delay the shipment at their discretion. Hence delivery times are estimates and while we can't guarantee a delivery date 99.9% of packages reach their destination.
*We only ship to Hong Kong, Vietnam and Ukraine by special request due to frequent fraudulent orders from these countries.
Warranty
Datsusara provides a 3 year warranty on bags and a 1 year warranty on fightwear or apparel against faulty manufacturing. If your item breaks due to a fault in manufacturing while under warranty we will repair or replace it free of charge. Please do remember this does not cover natural wear and tear as any natural fiber will wear over time, faster if you are rough on your gear. Datsusara reserves the right to refuse any warranty claim that it deems to be the consumers fault due to misuse, such as loading up bags with C4 or practicing Jiu Jitsu with badgers. That being said at our discretion we may offer you our wear and tear discount which starts at 30% for year 1, 20% for year two and 10% for year 3.§
Exchanges & Returns: We accept most products in their original, odor-free, unused or unworn condition (with any tags) for up to 30 days from the date of shipment, exceptions are t-shirts, rash guards and underwear (which cannot be returned for sanitary reasons).
You may either receive store credit or a refund, less all shipping costs and a $1 restock fee per item (please understand that we are a small company and it would hurt us greatly if we had to pay for shipping expenses and restocking costs on non defective returns).

I replaced my red HELLBOY messenger bag with the Datsusara fortune and glory satchuleta back in 2015 (I think). Why keep things in your pockets? My wallet chain attaches to a loop on the bag. The pic shows you what the bag looks like after almost a decade of daily use. The freyed left side of the bag is from walking uphill and hitting skateboard griptape. My whole life is contained in this bag. I've carried EXTREMELY heavy items in this bag for MANY YEARS. FOUR TALL BOYS! TWO BIG BOTTLES OF WINE! EVERY OTHER DAY FOR YEARS! Seriously! What bag lasts that long? I will get a new one soon, so as to not look like a homeless person, but I will never throw it away! It's not anywhere close to being non-functional. Just needs a wash and a little repair. It has NEVER FAILED. A few people have called it my man purse. They are correct. It is my purse and I love it. Come try and take my lunch money and see what happens!
Amazing - its replacing an existing one which Ive had for 8 years and has walked over 12,000 kilometers with me through sun, rain and snow. Its actually still going but some of the fabric around the drinks holder has worn through sonia being retired.
Holds all of my tools and then some.

After a couple weeks I would say I'm really happy with this bag. It's great quality and very convenient. The super intense name helps balance the fact it's basically a man purse. But it is a great purse!

Fits just the right amount of gear for my everyday needs. This is my 4th Datsusara product, & they’ve all been quality
Material is very soft and flexible, but bears all the obvious signs of solid, quality craftsmanship. It's just big enough to hold everything I need without being oversized - this thing will never be in my way. The PALS attachment give me quick access to my glasses case and keys, and the internal pouches keep everything else: headphones, eye drops, flashlight, pill organizer, phone charger, etc. The water bottle slot is the perfect fit, and the pouch on the opposite side is just right for a spare power bank. If I had to pick something to complain about it would be that the shoulder strap could have used an extra 8 or so inches in length, but I'm 6'3" and I like my shoulder/messenger bags to hang low, so I can't fault it there. I was able to easily remove it and replace it with one from my old laptop bag, which was also black. Excellent product, would recommend to others.

Easier to carry than the fanny pack and holds a full size water bottle, shades, wallet, keys, and three Sankara stones!

Let's not mince words, it is what it is, a man purse. And it is incredible. The materials are on par with everything else I have bought from Datsusara, well made and premium feeling. Plenty of compartments for gear, fits in anywhere. I have already been asked by several people where I got it, and when I tell them the price point and it is an American company producing quality hemp products, they cant believe it. If you're on the fence at all, just do it. You will be glad you did.
Does the current (new) version have the waterproof inner liner?
Only on the outer flap now, not on the inside.
Great bag, love it for trips, took it on a business trip and I couldn't be happier with it.
I travel a lot and end up needing a bag to carry my crap. It fits everything I need to bring with me, looks great. It fits in at the office, of the hiking trail...really everywhere. Perfect travel bag or daily carry bag.
The bag is a good size, but I was disappointed by the material. I bought a gear bag mini first, and the feel of it was amazing. I was expecting the same with the satchel, but the inside compartment seems cheap and almost plastic like. It would be a benefit if it was waterproofing that made it like this, but it isn't. I'm sure this makes it more durable, but is hemp so delicate it can't handle constant every day wear and tear? I don't know. I was annoyed this bag had to be broken in because it's incredibly stiff, but I also have very high expectations for this company. It needs work, but it's a good starting point for the product. I know this isn't necessarily a featured product, but I hope you spend a little time playing with it. Thanks for the good work!
Tanks for the feed back. Actually the inner liner that was mainly for waterproofing bugs me too and we are dropping it on the upcoming version. People do seem to enjoy the bag overall so we are just making a few other updates and the new version will be out by the end of the year. Sorry this one wasn't quite your speed. -Chris
Bit the bullet and bought myself a manbag. The FGS is awesome, enough pockets to cover all the bits and pieces you carry and a decent size main compartment for the general carrying of whatever you need that day.
It's a comfy bag to wear all day, even with a reasonable load in it. The material is durable and the whole bag seems study enough to take everything you throw at it for day to day use.
The ONLY downside I have to the whole bag is that if the tablet section was like 1cm wider at the bottom (it's a tapered shape) then my iPad Pro would fit like a glove. As-is I have to have it in the main body of the bag which limits what else I can carry. But if you have a smaller tablet then I literally can't think of anything that I would change on this bag.
If you're thinking about it, just get one. No regrets.
