This hemp jiu-jitsu gi showcases a huge attention to detail right down to the mycological artwork. Featuring the The Algerian Tassili mushroom shaman, the oldest representations of hallucinogenic mushrooms in the world. A cave painting believed to have been created about 6,000-9,000 B.C.E. The mushroom shaman appears on the left shoulder opposite of our inverted fungus mon logo and again on the pants near the upper thigh. If you take a closer look you'll notice on the reenforced knees the subtle black on black Metatron Cube sacred geometry pattern.

This complex gi simply represents our constant propulsion into evolution as well as our undeniable connection to nature.

The Original Datsusara Hemp Combat Gi was the worlds first 100% Hemp Gi made for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. We have been proudly making Hemp BJJ gis since 2008.

Due to the properties of hemp, the gi naturally fights microbes like staph and other nasties, breathes well, is 4X as strong as cotton, and is environmentally friendly too. They're great for rolling in any weather and so comfortable you could wear them as pajamas on off days.

Important notes:
Make sure to machine wash and dry your hemp gi 2 times (cold water for minimum shrinkage and hot for maximum) before use to prevent any shedding of the natural 100% hemp material.

Choose size carefully, considering up to 3% shrinkage in hot water. We can do exchanges but the gi must be in new condition with tags intact and you will need to pay for shipping both ways. We also do not offer split sizes at this time.

Excellent Gi

This is my first hemp gi, and first Datsusara purchase. I'm thoroughly impressed. The pants are incredibly comfortable, and feel like (the only way I can describe it) I'm putting on a very nice dress pants. The jacket is honestly pretty similar in feel to other gi jackets ive worn - likely due to the weave. The gi seems very durable and has stood up well while training. I've machine washed in cold water, and dried on ultra low, probably 8 times now and haven't seen any appreciable shrinkage. I forgot to wash my gi immediately after training a few days ago (I sweat profusely) and my wife found it on the floor and thought it had been through the wash and not the dryer because it was wet and didn't stink - I say this to say the anti-stink properties are as-advertised! Finally, im an amateur mycologist. So the fungi theme is a very nice aesthetic touch. Overall, I think the gi is outstanding, and well worth the investment! Easily my favorite gi.

Do You Have Any Guarantees?

Datsusara provides a 3 year warranty on bags and a 1 year warranty on fightwear or apparel against faulty manufacturing. If your item breaks due to a fault in manufacturing while under warranty we will repair or replace it free of charge. Please do remember this does not cover natural wear and tear as any natural fiber will wear over time, faster if you are rough on your gear.

Datsusara reserves the right to refuse any warranty claim that it deems to be the consumers fault due to misuse, such as loading up bags with C4 or practicing Jiu Jitsu with badgers. That being said at our discretion we may offer you our wear and tear discount which starts at 30% for year 1, 20% for year two and 10% for year 3.
What Is Your Shipping Policy?

Your order will ship within 24 hours (36 hours for international) Monday-Friday excluding holidays and pre-orders (which ship by the date mentioned on the product's page). A tracking number will be sent to your email once the order ships.

For US domestic shipments the options range from 1-5 days of transit time.

For Canada options range from a few days to a few weeks.

For International orders we have options ranging from around a week with USPS Express, 1-4 weeks Priority and up to 2 months for First Class (only for very small or light items), plus now FedEx options as well.
What is your refund/exchange policy?

We accept most products in their original, odor-free, unused or unworn condition (with any tags) for up to 30 days from the date of shipment, exceptions are t-shirts, rash guards and underwear (which cannot be returned for sanitary reasons). You may either receive store credit or a refund, less all shipping costs and a $1 restock fee per item (please understand that we are a small company and it would hurt us greatly if we had to pay for shipping expenses and restocking costs on non defective returns).
